Workshops & Classes
Based out of LUISS Guido Carli University, Edu LabGov is a transdisciplinary urban clinic offering continuing education and field research experiences. Edu LabGov LUISS is part of the LUISS Soft Skills program and is based at the International Center on Democracy and Democratization (ICEDD), the international research platform led by Professor Leonardo Morlino and directed by Professor Giovanni Orsina. The course is available for a maximum of 30 students from all departments and covers the full academic year.
Before getting involved in the management of the urban commons in the city of Rome, students are given the right tools and knowledge to develop the skills required for the implementation of polycentric governance strategies. Edu LabGov indeed provides students with a space to project himself/herself as a professional, and develop both a global and precise understanding and build up their practical skills. Edu is the ground for them to cultivate teamwork, and maturate critical thinking.
While taking part in the Co-Roma collaborative projects, aimed at serving needs and interests of the local community, they have the chance to put into practice the design principles included in the Co-City Protocol. Among other activities, they deal with regeneration of urban spaces and “common-pool resources” (natural resources) and collaboratively develop innovative public policies fostering social cohesion and sustainable, inclusive economy.
