We look forward to seeing you from tomorrow, October 25th, to Sunday, October 27th at the Maker Faire Rome- The European Edition at the Gazometro Ostiense!
We will attend to present our pilot project on impact measurement, developed by Luiss Guido Carli University and LabGov ETS as part of the CTE Roma – Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti – Roma Open Lab project.
The project consists of a platform for measuring impacts across 9 key dimensions.
During the three days, we will present visitors with a questionnaire that represents a simplified version of our work, aimed at certifying the impact of innovators engaged in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
If you are a sustainable innovator, come and discover your impact level, which can be weak, moderate, or strong and measure the impact of your innovation!
We look forward to seeing you at the MakerFaire, from tomorrow to Sunday, at the Gazometro!
See you there!

On 14-15 October 2024, together with Anna Berti Suman (head of research LabGov ETS) and Marijana Krstić (head of business and startup relations LabGov ETS), we attended the inauguration of the first aquaponics farm in Europe, thanks to AWARE-EU (Aquaponics from WAstewater REclamation), Horizon Europe research and innovation project.
This pilot facility, located in Castellana Grotte (BA), uses treated wastewater for aquaponic cultivation of fish and vegetables, representing a true innovation on a European scale, with significant impact and prestige.
Thanks to this technology, we can reduce dependence on natural water resources, repurpose peri-urban areas, and recover valuable nutrients from the wastewater treatment process.
An innovative project, proposed by INNOVA – Technology Transfer and Valorisation (project coordinator), which involves international partners, including us at LabGov ETS, marking an important shift for the future of agriculture and aquaculture in Europe.

Don’t miss Professor Christian Iaione’s interview on Sky TG24 during Live In Roma!
Alongside Alberto PINORI, Director of Harley&Dikkinson, and Professor Mihaela Gavrila from Sapienza Università di Roma, Professor Iaione discusses 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in Italy, emphasizing the importance of sustainable investments and a shared vision between public and private sectors.
“Social sustainability should be a responsibility of public administrations,” says Professor Iaione. “The fact that it has become widely accepted and that private entities are also involved means we are moving in the right direction. What we lack today is the awareness that this partnership model can accelerate processes and represents an Italian excellence.”
Professor Iaione also talks about 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 that connect young people and the elderly, highlighting how cities like Reggio Emilia and Rome are creating 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐮𝐛𝐬 to meet the needs of different generations. “With Covid, we learned that in difficult times, it’s essential to put the community at the center and provide spaces to meet common needs. Energy communities are emerging that produce energy for families in need of support.”
Finally, he discusses the European Union’s program to create 100 climate-neutral and smart cities, stating that “the idea is to empower communities and create governance mechanisms that involve both the public and private sectors.” He cites Amsterdam as an example of innovation and also mentions non-EU countries, like Nigeria, that are integrating the principle of social sustainability into their ecological transitions.
